Why should I buy a Smart Fixed Rate plan?

The Smart Energy BC “Fixed Rate Plan” is the new safe way of fixing business energy costs. The Fixed Rate Plan will ensure that the price business’ pay will never go up, but will be flexible when market rates drop lower. With the new Fixed Rate Plan, on the anniversary date of your agreement, you will be able to negotiate an adjustment if the market price of natural gas falls. The new Fixed Rate Plan will make it possible for everyone to take advantage of the current low natural gas rates in the market. With the new Fixed Rate Plan consumers will be free from rising prices and always have a guaranteed low fixed rate.

Who will supply and bill me for natural gas?

Your supply, distribution and billing will still remain with Terasen Gas. You will simply notice on your natural gas bill from Terasen that the commodity charges are with Smart Energy. If you have any problems with your natural gas meters or system Terasen still does all the work.

How long is the agreement, what if I move?

We provide 1 to 5 year agreements for fixed rate natural gas. If you move anywhere else besides Whistler, Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast in BC you can continue to take full advantage of your fixed price.

When will my plan begin?

Your plan will begin within 30-90 days of your signing date.

If I am not satisfied with the agreement and want to cancel in the 10-day cancellation period, what do I do?
If you decided that you don’t want to purchase your gas with us, you have a 10-day grace period from the time your signed your agreement with us to cancel switching. Email us or fax in your agreement form at (604) 607-1190 before the 10 days expire and you will be removed from our system. If you need help, feel free to contact us via phone at (866) 917-5599.
